There's a lot to think about when it's time to buy a new jacket, what color do I want, what material should I choose and what model should I have? That's why we've gathered all the information you need to make your buying decision easier here in our guide. You can also find specific information about each individual garment on their product pages.
Things to consider
There is one important thing to keep in mind to facilitate your purchase of a new jacket and that is to think about what you will use the jacket for, what are your needs? This can help you decide if the jacket needs to be water resistant, long or short, warm or cold and then you can exclude certain materials and make your search easier.
Technical down jacket
Our technical down jackets are made of a soft nylon material, which means that the jacket has all the warming properties of regular down jackets, but is significantly more animal-friendly. Our technical down jackets are both lightweight and windproof, which means that the jacket fits just as well on the hike over a thinner layer or as insulation under the shell jacket. We offer down jackets for women, men and children.
Shell jacket
A shell jacket works perfectly as an outer layer to protect against wind and water. Shell jackets work all year round by combining them with different types of mid layers. Our Women's shell jacket Elena is a rain jacket made of Hytec 5000 mm material and is wind and water resistant. Our jacket Dean is the perfect shell jacket for children, it is both wind and waterproof while breathable, so it doesn't get too hot.
"Stock on stock"
To keep the perfect temperature when you're out and about where the temperature changes, 'layering' is your best friend. We offer a wide range of different jackets and vests that work perfectly as layers. When you use layers, you can always take them off and adjust your temperature as you get hot during your walk. We recommend using our vests and technical down jackets as a middle layer on colder days and as an outer layer on warmer days. A shell or rain jacket like our Elena is prefect as an outer layer. By thinking "layer by layer" when buying new clothes, you can use them all year round, which is better for the environment and your wallet.
Watertightness
A waterproof jacket is perfect for rainy and wet conditions. A good thing to keep in mind when looking for waterproof jackets is how high the water column of the jacket is. The higher the water column the better. We have everything from only water repellent jackets, to jackets with 10,000 water columns, which means they are completely waterproof. If you only want to be able to sit on slightly damp surfaces or for the garment to withstand light rain, it is enough that the garment is water repellent or has a lower water column. A jacket without a water column is often perceived as more flexible and a little softer, so it can be nice to choose such a jacket if you are not going to be in the rain.
fit
We always want you to be able to choose your usual size and for our jackets to be "true to size". However, it is important to remember that the fit is very individual and therefore you should always consider how you want the jacket to fit when choosing your size. If you want to use the jacket as a mid-layer, it may be good to consider that it should fit a little tighter and not be too big. If you instead want to fit a layer underneath, it may be good to consider taking a slightly larger size.
If you are between two different sizes, we recommend that you choose the larger size, but always keep in mind what your needs are and what kind of fit you want. Inside each garment you will find specific information about the fit and size of that particular jacket.
Washing advice
All our jackets are machine washable, always follow the instructions on the washing instructions attached to the garment to ensure that the jacket is not damaged.
