01 — Our History

Everything starts outside

Five Seasons was founded in 1997 by a group of outdoor enthusiasts in Åre who were tired of choosing between garments that looked good and garments that actually worked. They wanted both — and if they didn't exist, they had to be created.

The first garment — a simple dark green fleece jacket — sold out in three days. Not because the marketing was ingenious, but because it was simply the best fleece people had ever worn.

Since then, we have grown from a small warehouse in Jämtland to a global brand — but the mentality remains the same. Every garment is tested in the field, not just in the lab.

02 — Design

Design

We work according to a simple rule: a garment should be able to do everything you ask of it – and look like it’s not even trying. This means that we start each collection with a problem, not an aesthetic.

Why do people’s hands get cold when they pick up their phone? That gave us our magnetic wrist openings. Scandinavian simplicity is not a style choice – it’s the result of removing everything that isn’t necessary.

03 — Materials

We only use materials we can stand behind – bluesign®-certified fabrics, recycled synthetic fibers, and merino wool from traceable farms. Our DWR treatment has been PFC-free since 2021.

Our jackets undergo 50,000 abrasion cycles in testing. The industry average is 20,000. That's not a sales pitch – it's a promise.
